At the same time, with the rapid development of cloud computing, big data and Ethernet, operators have upgraded the data center to a higher data rate, which further increases the demand for 100g. The 100G qsfp28 Zr4 optical module came into being.
The optical modules for 100g ultra long distance transmission include 100G qsfp28 Er4 and 100G qsfp28 Zr4, wherein the farthest transmission distance of Er4 is 40km and that of Zr4 is 80km.
1、 Product characteristics
The 100g qsfp28 Zr4 optical module is small in size and low in power consumption, with a maximum power consumption of 6.5W. The duplex LC optical interface adopts the hot pluggable qsfp28 package, supports 0-70 ℃ commercial grade working temperature, conforms to the qsfp28 industry standard and relevant MSA described in the latest sff-8665 / 8636, and can use the digital diagnosis function through the I2C interface. The maximum speed can be as high as 103.125gbps (4x25g NRZ). After cost optimization, it supports 100g Ethernet and can realize transmission up to 80km, When the system starts FEC, the transmission distance through a pair of single-mode optical fibers can reach up to 90km.
2、 Transmission principle
At the transmitting end, 4-channel serial data (NRZ) is recovered by CDR and transmitted to 4 laser drivers, so as to control 4 lasers with center wavelengths of 1296nm, 1300nm, 1305nm and 1309nm respectively. The optical signal is multiplexed to a single-mode optical fiber through a standard LC connector. At the receiving end, the optical signals of four channels are amplified by SOA, and then the optical signals are demultiplexed by an integrated optical demultiplexer. Each optical signal is recovered by the pin detector and then transmitted to the output driver conforming to caui-4 through the transimpedance amplifier and CDR.
The 100g qsfp28 Zr4 optical module can provide a point-to-point solution in the data center without deploying redundant and complex equipment, and can operate on the 80km long point-to-point link without optical amplification and dispersion compensation, realizing a true plug and play solution.
