Spain and Brazil agreed to build a new submarine cable between the two countries


Recently, the Spanish and Brazilian governments have agreed to deploy a submarine cable between the two countries. According to Reuters, EllaLink submarine cable will connect to the Spanish capital Madrid to Brazil’s Sao Paulo and the Portuguese capital Lisbon. In addition, the submarine cable will be connected to the Madeira Islands, the Spanish Canary Islands and Cape Verde, Africa.

According to Spanish government officials, the submarine cable through the United States outside the communication path selection to improve data security.

EllaLink submarine cable length will reach 9200 km, capacity of 72Tbps. Submarine cable plan put into operation in 2019.
